Months of planning had gone into the flotilla that graced the mighty Missippi to welcome the delegates. Small groups assembled along the banks to watch the tall ships pass. . We wended our way past a few locals heading for a quaint little cafe we had heard about. [[File:DSC05534.JPG|500px|left]][[File:DSC05537.JPG|500px|right]][[File:DSC05301.JPG|500px|center]] This restaraunt had a fishpond with Alligator and Turtles, pick the one you want and the chef would prepare it however you wished. The bars here are serious about there cocktails, none of this nancy-boy shaker stuff, they are pre-mixed in a Makka's style drink machine, and are served in milk shake containers. [[File:DSC05544.JPG|500px|left]][[File:DSC05545.JPG|right|500px]][[File:DSC05541.JPG|500px|center]] We met an enterprising young girl in Huck Finns, Randi, and she gave us a tour of the town. Before we knew it, the demon drink had taken hold of Al and he was besotted. We tried to make him see sense, but he would have none of it. The next thing we know he is down on one knee begging her to come back to the hotel with him. [[File:DSC05265.JPG|left|500px]][[File:DSC05261.JPG|500px|right]][[File:DSC05267.JPG|500px|center]] We never did see him again that day, Carl Haaser, Marc Shevik and myself too over the top floor of the Hard Rock Cafe and settled in to await the welcome that New Orleans had promised us for that evening.
