Toolbar Items

Choose the "T" option in CTMAINT to create or maintain a toolbar. The following prompt is displayed: 

   Enter Line#,(A)dd,(D)elete,(I)nsert,(S)eperator,(E)nd

*To edit an existing tool, type its line number and press Enter. 
*To add an item to the toolbar, choose the A option. 
*To delete an existing item from the toolbar, choose the D option. 
*To insert an item on the toolbar (between two existing items), choose the I option. 
*To add a seperator space to the toolbar, choose the S option. 
*To return to the CTMAINT main menu, choose the E option. 

The Toolbar Maintenance Screen 

The toolbar maintenance screen is divided into two sections: Nova settings and Windows settings. 

*The Nova settings specify the action that will be taken when the mouse is clicked on a given icon. 

*The Windows settings specify what information is displayed on the screen, and (optionally) information for Windows-enabled MTB programs.

To define a tool that will launch the Comet Help System, provide the following information:

Pass Msg in COMMON?  Type Y if you want to pass the message in COMMON to the subprogram. Type N if you want to pass the message using the system buffer (#), or if there is no message to pass.

The "no action" code represents an event that your Windows-enabled MTB program will intercept directly. Such an event will not be processed by the Nova system.

|Type the full path name for the icon file. Note: Small icons are BMP files 15 pixels wide by 16 pixels high. Large icons are BMP files 32 pixels wide by 32 pixels high. 

Note: The CTMAINT program reads the BMP file and stores the bitmap data in a Comet data file. Therefore, to distribute a toolbar to another Comet system, you do not need to distribute the original BMP file(s). 

However, to maintain the toolbar, you do need the BMP file(s). For this reason, th CTMAINT program includes an [[Export Bitmaps]] option.
