Enter key, Transmit, F10, Carriage Return and tab
There are 2 enter keys: The main key labeled enter at the right of the letters and the enter at the right of the numbers on the 10 key pad.
The enter key could be caused to do one of 3 actions:
- Act like a tab and go to the next field on the line.
- Act like a carriage return and go to the first foreground field on the NEXT line.
- Act like an F10 and transmit all foreground text in the current input area.
There are two configuration settings that can be used to indicate the desired action for these 2 keys.
- C/R same as Qantel = Yes/No;
- Numpad enter same as f10 = Yes/NO;
Unfortunately, When we designed Comet, we did not understand that there were 3 options not 2. There was also a bug in COSW that made the first option override the second. This was fixed in build 404.
What does this mean? Starting with build 404:
With both of these options commented out, the main enter key takes you to the next line and the numpad enter causes a transmit. This is the same as answering yes to both options.
If selecting "C/R same as Qantel = YES;" and "Numpad enter same as f10 = NO;" Both enter keys will act like a carriage return and go to the first foreground field on the NEXT line.
If selecting "C/R same as Qantel = NO;" and "Numpad enter same as f10 = YES;" The main enter key will act as a tab. The numpad enter will cause a transmit.
If both options are configured as "NO", both enter keys will act as a tab.
